TRUE COLORS: Fox’s Megyn Kelly stole her share of headlines for wearing a black spaghetti strap dress to cover the RNC Wednesday night, but the female portion of the Trump contingency have been attracting their share of attention in the fashion department.
When it comes to branding, Ivanka Trump has been proving like father like daughter. The Republican’s eldest daughter has been wearing dresses and shoes from her signature collection. To introduce her father Thursday night in Cleveland, the mother of three took to the stage wearing a $138 blush-colored sleeveless sheath dress from her label’s fall collection.
The entrepreneur was also sporting her own designs — $158 off-white dress, $135 black suede pumps and her own considerably pricier precious jewelry — in the Quicken Loans Arena on Wednesday night, when photographers shot her pointing toward her father’s nemesis Ted Cruz.
Her stepmother Melania also went with a Fendi crème-colored dress with floral appliqué and trumpet sleeves, which looked very similar to the ivory dress from Roksanda she wore earlier in the week. The candidate’s third wife won points with the GOP though for buying that frock from Net-a-porter. A former model and QVC designer, she opted not to phone in a designer freebie or rely on a stylist.
When Tiffany Trump, the Republican presidential candidate’s youngest daughter took to the podium, she too chose a British label — a sleeveless blue Karen Millan short dress with a flouncy skirt. Before she clued in the crowd to how her father wrote notes on her report cards, she walked confidently across the stage. Maybe some of that poise was from modeling in her first runway show in February. During New York Fashion Week, the University of Pennsylvania grad hit the catwalk for her friend Andrew Warren’s Just Drew collection.
Trump’s half brother Donald Jr. showed off his own fashion flair when he took to the mic Wednesday night, choosing a purple printed with a light blue shirt and dark suit.
