NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Tennessee Titans rookie Jarvis Brownlee Junior has gone viral on social media after helping a waitress pay her bills.
The waitress, Kristie Johnson, just asked him for an autograph for her children, but it turned into an amazing surprise.
Jarvis had the best game of his career on Sunday, which is the same day he gave a single mother the best day of her work life.
Kristie was serving tables as usual on Sunday.
Kristie was not Jarvis' server, but she asked his server if he could sign a football for her children.
Jarvis invited her over to his table.
“I didn’t hear her story. I just heard she had six kids and that’s all I needed to hear. She is a single parent,” Jarvis emphasized.
This circumstance hits close to home for Jarvis because he was raised by a single mother.
Jarvis understood the struggles Kristie was facing, so he decided to help her out.
“I was actually $400 short on rent, and it was due to the next day, so I was able to get the rest of my rent paid and the next day I took the kids to get some clothes and jackets and shoes,” Kristie said.
Kristie says she was in absolute shock, and she took to "X" and TikTok to show the world how amazing Jarvis is and how much he is helping her family.
A feel-good post that went viral with more than 430,000 views.
“It meant the world. I will never forget him. My children will never forget him and it’s just another reason to love the Tennessee Titans,” Kristie emphasized.
And this good deed may mean the world to Kristie and her family, but it also means the world to Jarvis after all he has been through.
“It was a lot of tough times when my mom didn’t have it. I saw my mom cry a couple of times and it always pushed me when I get the chance when I’m able to take care of my family and take care of others, any chance I can do it,” Jarvis said.
Not only did Jarvis shine on the field Sunday with his career-record tackles, but he also was a bright light to a family that needed it more.
Jarvis told Kristie he was going to take her and her children out to dinner, and he told Fox 17 News again in the locker room that he still plans on doing this.
