Canton woman accused of attacking 11-year-old at public park faces felony charges
CANTON, Ohio (WOIO) - The Canton woman arrested in the attack of an 11-year-old girl at a public park is now facing felony charges.
Destany Scott, 20, is charged with felonious assault, aggravated assault, resisting arresting, obstructing official business and disorderly conduct in Canton Municipal Court.
Those charges are in addition to the misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct charges for which she was already arraigned and pleaded not guilty.
Court records also show Scott was arrested on a warrant and taken into custody Tuesday.
The incident took place Friday, April 18, at a park in the 1600 block of Clark Avenue SW.
According to a Canton police report, the accusations against Scott include her allegedly telling the 11-year-old’s mother she hopes her daughter dies.

Scott was detained on scene as she was in an argument with the mother, Paige Dishong.
Dishong said Scott got into a fight with her 11-year-old child at a park and “repeatedly slammed her head off the metal portion of a slide,” according to the report.
As Scott was arrested, she told Dishong she hopes the 11-year-old dies, according to the report.
The report said Dishong then ran at Scott. Dishong was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing official business.
Dishong is set to be arraigned on May 2.
Scott is due back in court Thursday for her second arraignment.
