WALDORF, Md. (7News) — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) plans to "fully prosecute" the man who was charged with the murder of a Waldorf mother prior to deportation, sources tell 7News. This means if convicted, Barrera-Rosa will serve time here before he is sent back to his native country.
ICE officers arrested Keycy Robinson Alexis Barrera-Rosa, a 23-year-old Guatemalan national, on April 5 in La Plata, Maryland. Barrera-Rosa is facing charges for the murder of his girlfriend, 23-year-old Lesbia Mileth Ramirez Guerra, who was also a Guatemalan national.
Guerra has two children.
Barrera-Rosa had reported Ramirez missing to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office on March 31, claiming she was last seen at their home on Adams Court in Waldorf, where they lived with their children and others.

Authorities in Charles County believe they have discovered the Guerra's remains buried near powerlines just outside Cedarville State Forest, which borders the towns of Waldorf and Brandywine. Officials are awaiting final confirmation from the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore.
"The arrest of these two individuals marks a significant step towards justice," said ICE Baltimore acting Field Office Director Vernon Liggins.
Barrera-Rosa's uncle, Rolvin Eduardo Barrera-Barrera, 37, has also been charged with accessory after the fact of murder.
Both men were apprehended by the United States Border Patrol near El Paso, Texas, on April 10, 2019, and were served notices to appear before a Department of Justice immigration judge.

Barrera-Rosa is currently in ICE custody at the Farmville Detention Center in Virginia, awaiting extradition to Charles County. Barrera-Barrera is being held without bond at the Charles County Detention Center.
The investigation into Ramirez Guerra's disappearance began after deputies deemed the circumstances "suspicious." Authorities are also examining the family car, a red Toyota 4Runner, which was at Guerra's house on the day she was reported missing and is believed to be involved in her disappearance.
