Man killed in shootout in West Loop, police say

A man was killed in an exchange of gunfire on Saturday evening, Chicago police said.

The shooting happened around 6:04 p.m. on a pedestrian walking bridge near the vestibule of the CTA Blue Line platform in the 400 block of South Peoria Street at Van Buren, Chicago police said.

Two men, ages 24 and 61, were arguing when it escalated into a shootout, police said.

The older man was shot in the head, CPD said. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.

The younger man is being questioned by police at Area 3, officials said.

No other injuries were reported.

3 shot near currency exchange in Rogers Park, Chicago police say

Three people were shot Saturday near a currency exchange on the city's North Side.

The shooting happened around 5:20 p.m. in the 1600 block of West Howard Street in Rogers Park, which is also near a CTA Red Line station, Chicago police said.

Man found shot in Gold Coast, Chicago police say

A man was found shot on the city's North Side on Sunday, police said.

The man was found at about 3:29 on Goethe Street near N Lake Shore Drive in the Gold Coast neighborhood, according to Chicago police.

Police responded to the call of a person shot when they found the 26-year-old man outside.

CPD said he had a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.

Two men were shot on the city's North Side on Sunday, according to Chicago police.

The shooting happened at about 2 a.m. on Sunday in the 1200-block of W. Devon Avenue, police said.

A man was shot in the chest in Logan Square on Saturday night, according to Chicago police.

The shooting happened at about 9:47 p.m. in the 3600-block of W. Armitage Avenue, according to police.

Chicago police said a 48-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The victim did not tell police any details regarding the shooting.

He was taken to an area hospital with critical injuries, police said.
