We present a documentary film titled "Code Name: Artichoke, The Secret Human Experiments Of The CIA" produced by Egmont R. Koch Filmproduktion in 2002. The film was directed by Egmont Koch and Michael Wech, both well-known names in the documentary film industry.
"Code Name: Artichoke" delves into the dark history of secret brainwashing experiments on humans conducted by the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in the 1950s. The victims were subjected to cruel and inhumane experimentation, including being pumped full of drugs like LSD, put under hypnosis, and even tortured. The aim of these experiments was to manipulate the human mind in order to extract secrets from the subjects, and then erase their memory so that they cannot remember what happened to them. Shockingly, some of these experiments even resulted in death.
The documentary focuses on the story of Dr. Frank Olson, a US scientist who fell out of a New York hotel window in November 1953. The CIA declared his death a suicide, but his son Eric has never accepted this explanation. After more than forty years, Eric had his father's remains exhumed and a new autopsy conducted. The conclusion of the autopsy was that Frank Olson was probably the victim of a brutal crime.
The film raises important questions about the ethics of government agencies and their actions, as well as the consequences of such actions on human lives. It serves as a chilling reminder of the lengths to which organizations like the CIA were willing to go to achieve their goals.
We believe that "Code Name: Artichoke" is an important and thought-provoking documentary that leaves all modern-day spy thrillers in its shadow. It highlights the need for transparency and accountability in government agencies and the importance of never forgetting the lessons of the past. …...more
