China's Ministry of Education issued a notice on Wednesday, urging universities and local authorities to ramp up military recruitment efforts on campuses, further inspiring college students' enthusiasm to enlist and serve the country. The notice encourages and guides students, particularly graduating seniors, to actively join the military.

According to the notice posted on the official website of China's Ministry of Education on Wednesday, college students are regarded as a vital talent pool for building a world-class military. The notice emphasizes that promoting military recruitment among university students serves as a foundational project to support national defense and military modernization, a key approach to fulfilling the fundamental mission of fostering virtue through education, and an effective measure to broaden career development pathways for young students.

The notice calls for creating an immersive recruitment environment by setting up recruitment information booths along main campus walkways, in canteens, and dormitory areas. It suggests fostering a strong recruitment atmosphere through measures such as broadcasting promotional videos, hanging banners, putting up posters, and distributing brochures. Additionally, it encourages embedding recruitment campaigns into activities like freshman military training, campus job fairs, and graduation ceremonies to ensure targeted outreach.

The notice also recommends differentiated promotional approaches tailored to students' academic levels and grade characteristics. For graduating students, the emphasis should be on policies such as educational subsidies for enlistment, further education or academic reinstatement after discharge, employment services, as well as incentives like promotion to non-commissioned officers, officer candidacy, and career advancement in the military. For lower-grade students, the focus should be on strengthening national defense awareness.

The notice stressed strict adherence to recruitment publicity guidelines, ensuring all promotional content is truthful and accurate. Exaggerating preferential policies or making false promises is strictly prohibited. Universities and local authorities must coordinate with local military service offices, maintain a streamlined "green channel" for enlistment, and complete recruitment registration for graduating students by the end of August.

Additionally, the notice states that universities and local authorities should treat student recruitment promotion—particularly encouraging graduating students to enlist—as a key component of the broader campaign to promote employment and entrepreneurship and improve service systems.
