Former St. Xavier employee pleads guilty to sexual battery, admits to relationship with student
A former St. Xavier High School employee accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old student pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery.
Emily Nutley, 43, pleaded guilty to two of six counts of sexual battery. In exchange for her plea, the other four counts were dismissed.
For the first time publicly, she admitted she had a sexual relationship with the teen on November 19 and December 8, 2023.
"Did you engage in sexual conduct with a 17-year-old male on those two dates?" Judge Jennifer Branch asked.
"Yes," Nutley said.
Nutley was the director of academic services at St. X at the time. Investigators said she had been helping the teen with school work and then began having contact with him outside of school hours. Investigators said Nutley sent the student nude photos and sexually explicit messages and had sex with him on and off school property.
Judge Branch accepted Nutley's plea. She will be sentenced June 10 at 1:30 p.m.
She faces anywhere from probation to a maximum of 10 years in prison. She will also be required to register as a Tier 3 sex offender.
