Jayhawks Guard Zeke Mayo receives racist, violent messages following home loss
LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - True fans of Kansas basketball are coming to the defense of Guard Zeke Mayo after he received hateful, racist and violent messages following a harsh home loss.
University of Kansas Men’s Guard Zeke Mayo took to X on Saturday afternoon, March 1, following a brutal home loss against Texas Tech. He shared messages he received after the game.
Mayo shared screenshots of hateful and racist messages telling him to kill himself, threatening violence and more. The messages follow a heartbreaking 78-73 loss against the Red Raiders.
The Kansas Senior apologized to fans for his recent performance and continued to state that he will improve.

Following Mayo’s message, supporters, such as teammate Dajuan Harris and KU Athletic Director Travis Goff, took to social media to defend him. Goff even denied that those behind the screen were even true Jayhawks.
Saturday’s loss marks the fourth straight in Allen Fieldhouse as the Jayhawks look to move into March Madness.
