Munich Security Conference 2025 Day 2, with Olaf Scholz, Volodymyr Zelenskyy | DW News
From February 14-16, 2025, the 61st Munich Security Conference is the center of international diplomacy. The MSC will offer a platform for high-level debates on the key foreign and security policy challenges of our time. US Vice President JD Vance attends as part of his first foreign trip in post. He will be accompanied by US Foreign Secretary Marco Rubio. Vance is scheduled to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the conference that is expected to mainly focus on peace talks between Kyiv and Moscow. President Donald Trump told reporters on Thursday, US officials will also meet Russian counterparts at the Munich conference. There were no further details about said meetings. German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier opens the conference. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, EU High Representative Kaja Kallas; NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte; US Special Envoy for Russia and Ukraine Keith Kellogg; and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and all G7 foreign ministers are expected to attend.
