Venezuelan migrant with ties to Tren de Aragua grins after being arrested in lewd robbery of NYC prosecutor

A Venezuelan migrant with links to Tren de Aragua has been arrested for allegedly robbing one of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s prosecutors in her apartment building after she busted him masturbating, police sources told The Post Wednesday.

Brandon Simosa, 25, who has apparent ties to the vicious prison gang, was nabbed outside the Row Hotel migrant shelter in Midtown Manhattan Tuesday night over the sick ordeal, the sources said.

He is accused of robbing the 38-year-old assistant district attorney when she arrived home to her 44th Street pad at about 2 a.m. Sunday and busted him midway through the lewd act in the building’s hallway.

Simosa, who also goes by Brandon Jesus Simoza Seijas, allegedly fled with the prosecutor’s phone after she dropped it at the moment, the sources said.

The phone was later traced to the vicinity of the migrant shelter, according to sources.

Simosa, who was hit with a slew of charges — including sexually motivated robbery, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property — was spotted smirking as he was hauled away in handcuffs by cops ahead of his pending arraignment Wednesday.

It wasn’t immediately clear when Simosa arrived in the Big Apple, or where he’d been living. At one point, one of his addresses was listed as one of the city’s taxpayer-funded migrant shelter in Queens, sources said.

Brandon Simosa, 25, has six priors from this year alone:

  • Jan. 14: Domestic assault in Jackson Heights
  • June 11: Grand larceny in Midtown, Manhattan
  • June 29: Transit fare evasion in Queens
  • Aug. 5: Grand larceny at the Queens Center Mall Macy’s
  • Nov. 11: Arrested in connection to an April 23 grand larceny at a Times Square CVS

Simosa illegally crossed into the US at Eagle Pass, Texas in October 2023, federal law-enforcement sources said.

He was taken into custody by US border patrol agents at the time, but later cut loose with a notice to appear before an immigration judge in New York City, the federal sources said.

Simosa already has a lengthy rap sheet in the Big Apple with six other prior arrests in the last five months, according to sources.

A judge ended up tossing his removal proceedings case in February, the sources said, though it wasn’t immediately clear why.

The decision left Simosa without any pending immigration applications – meaning he was no longer being actively pursued for deportation.

But during his time in the Big Apple, Simosa racked up a hefty rap sheet — six busts in the last 10 months alone — police said, though due to the city’s sanctuary status US Immigration and Customs Enforcement wouldn’t have been alerted to the arrests by local authorities.

Simosa was picked up just last week and charged with grand larceny stemming from an April 23 theft at a Times Square CVS store — and later cut loose, police sources said.

He was also arrested for a string of assault, grand larceny, robbery, and transit evasion incidents in Queens and Manhattan between January and August, per sources.

At least three cases of his are still open, including the Nov. 11 arrest for the Times Square CVS incident, another from Aug. 5 for grand larceny inside Macy’s at the Queens Center Mall in Elmhurst and from June 13 for robbery at a Flushing supermarket, sources said.

Simosa had been due to face a Queens judge on Thursday after taking a guilty plea in one of his earlier arrests, the sources added.

Neither the Manhattan or Queens DA’s offices responded to requests for comment.
