Mobs have stormed the Bangladesh Parliament after a violent rampage at Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official residence, Ganabhaban, on Moday, August 5. Amidst escalating unrest, Hasina has resigned and fled the country, landing at Hindon Air Base in India.
Some protestors were seen sitting on tables, taking pictures, and enjoying meals inside the palace, further highlighting the severity of the situation.
Following her resignation, Sheikh Hasina arrived at Hindon Air Base in a C-130 transport aircraft. The Indian Air Force monitored the aircraft's movement from its entry into Indian airspace to its arrival in Ghaziabad. The aircraft was parked near the IAF’s C-17 and C-130J Super Hercules hangars.
As the political crisis in Bangladesh continues, the Indian Border Security Force has issued a high alert along the India-Bangladesh border to prevent further incidents.
