Demonstrators are also gathering to show their solidarity with the people of Palestine. Muslims in Malaysia are performing absentee funeral prayers following the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh by Israel at the National Mosque in Kuala Lumpur. Hamas is announcing early Wednesday that Haniyeh, who is also its political bureau chief, is killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting his residence in the Iranian capital, Tehran, according to international media reports.
