Last week, video footage revealed that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wanted to sock Trump in the mouth on January 6, and vowed to do so if he showed up at the Capitol. “I hope he comes,” she tells her staff on January 6. “I want to punch him out.… I’ve been waiting for this…I’m gonna punch him out, and I’m gonna go to jail, and I’m gonna be happy.” Of course, emotions were running high that day in 2021, and it would be understandable if, 21 months later, the Democratic leader wanted to walk back what she said. But apparently, she does not!
In an interview with MSNBC on Tuesday, Pelosi confirmed that she wanted to knock the then president out. Asked if she actually would have done it, the Speaker of the House said that she clearly would have never gotten the chance, because Trump didn’t have “the courage to come to the Hill” and is “all talk.”

During what may have been the January 6 committee’s final public hearing last Thursday, the panel aired footage showing Pelosi and other congressional leaders attempting to put a stop to the insurrection incited by Trump, who then sat back and lapped up the violence he set into motion.
