‘Explain yourself,’ Walmart shoppers demand of chain after $126 grocery buy spikes to $400 after price hikes
Skeptical shoppers shared their own comparisons that weren't nearly as expensive
WALMART shoppers were flabbergasted to see the cost of a customer's grocery order increase from $126 to over $400 in just two years.
The Walmart shopper hit the "reorder all" button out of curiosity, but the result made the TikTok go viral.

The TikTok (@sewerlidd) explained that the original $126.16 purchase was for a month's worth of groceries, which included 53 items.
"A whole month of groceries just for me," he said in the video.
The total was updated to $414.39, almost quadrupling.
"I feel like I'm going to be sick," he said.

Viewers expressed both shock and frustration in the comments.
"Now I feel a little less gaslit about grocery prices because it has gone crazy, and it's not just me!" wrote one person.
"Walmart, can you explain yourself, please," added another.
A fellow shopper said they used to spend $180 for two weeks' worth of groceries and are now spending over $430 for the same amount.

DIFFERENT RESULTS
While it's no secret that inflation is up, some shoppers were skeptical of the results.
"I did this too. In 2021, for 45 items, I spent $190. Now It's cheaper at $188," one person wrote.
"I'm confused because maybe it depends on the state you live in."

When the video was shared on X, a user had similar results.
"I just did this same thing using a grocery order from December 2021. The original order was $120.33," they wrote.
"The new total is $140.79. That’s an increase of 16.7% in the last 2-1/2 years. Which is still a lot but nowhere near this guy’s total. (We buy mostly generic and not a ton of junk food, so maybe that matters?)."
Several people pointed out that the original poster's order included multiples of certain brand-name items.
He had three boxes of Wheat Thins and three bags of Fritos, totaling almost $30 alone.
"I did it as well, and my new total was approximately $20 higher than the total from two years ago," wrote another X user.
