Arnold Schwarzenegger wants to see action, and he is not talking about the movies. Schwarzenegger was talking about climate change and said it is time for the talking to stop and for there to be concrete solutions.
“All we care about is action,” Schwarzenegger said at the latest edition of the Austrian World Summit, the event he launched eight years ago. “Talking alone won’t save us – but action will. We all share the same vision of a pollution-free world. We have to do whatever it takes to stop the bleeding in order to save our children, to save our planet, to save our future.”
The summit ran under the banner “Be Useful: Tools For a Healthy Planet” and was held at Vienna’s Hofburg, the official residence of the President of Austria. The aim was to find concrete solutions to fight climate change and Schwarzenegger told attendees: “You have the power.”

Schwarzenegger, a former Governor of Caliornia, founded the Austria-based international summit in 2017. He hosted the event and his speech opened proceedings.
Austrian President Alexander Van Der Bellen, Secretary General of the UN Antonio Guterres, and Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for the European Green Deal, Maroš Šefčovič, all attended.
Representatives from different industries and sectors took part. The film and TV business is increasingly engaged in terms of climate change, specifically with regards to reducing the footprint of productions and also storytelling, across factual and fiction. Klemens Hallmann presented his Kate Winslet-narrated documentary DreamScapes, which is endorsed by the WWF.
He spoke about how film production can address the challenges of climate change during what he described as a state of emergency. Klemens also talked about taking a different narrative tack with DreamScapes, which is produced under the Hallmann Entertainment Company banner: “We consciously wanted to choose a new approach. Our goal was to show the beauty of our earth with all its diversity. We want to make viewers aware of what needs to be protected.”
Didn’t he own a gas-guzzling Hummer?
You know what would be a great way to battle climate change? Not living in an $11 million mansion when something much smaller and with much less of a carbon footprint would be better for the environment one claims to give a shit about.
I remember that argument being used against Al Gore. Oooh, he says he’s against Global Warming but he has a big house so we can’t vote for him.
That’s what gave us George W. Bush. Who killed any chance for action on Climate Change. Plus we got two radical Supreme Court justices. Oh, yeah, he also let 911 happen and invaded Iraq.
So, yeah, let’s not listen to Arnold because he lives in a large house. Sound logic.
Yes, his house is causing a searing heat wave.
Schwarzennegger should stay out of politics. And if you don’t think the climate issue is political, think again.
Why should he stay out of politics? How is he different than any other person who runs for office? And if you think climate change is fake, you’re as looney as a toon. Go see a psychiatrist and get on some medication and come back to reality.
Did he mention how AI will be the greatest energy draw of our time or are we not concerned with that?
If you really want to save the children, stop mortgaging their future with endless government spending.
Good point, but only one president in the past 30 years cut spending and balanced the budgett. And that was Bill Clinton with the help of Republicans like Newt Gingrich. They worked together. Imagine that.
As for massive debt Trump racked up more debt than any president in U.S. history. And what did the American people get for it? Infrastructure? Energy independence? Renewable energy and jobs in that sector? A replacement for Obamacare as he promised? Manufacturing jobs returning?
Nope. He gave tax cuts to the wealthy and corporations, many which simply bought back their stock, but it didn’t translate into new jobs or reduced debt. He created more debt.
And then he left us a big stinking pile of Covid and a cratering economy as he left in shame, spreading debunked election conspiracies and lies before bringing an army of his redhats to our nation’s capital which they ransacked to try to overturn the election for him.
Trump left us with division, debt, and little else. It’s been a nightmare for his successor and those in office to clean up the mess Trump gave America.
Oh, boy. Another true believer in the supply side economics cult. Let me explain how the real world works.
GOVERNMENT SPENDING STIMULATES THE ECONOMY.
The US Government doesn’t have a spending problem, it has a taxation problem. Raised taxes even by 5% on the uber-rich and the deficit goes away. Soon followed by the debt. Bill Clinton managed to reduce the deficit. As did Obama. Reagan, Both Bushes, Trump INCREASED the debt through massive tax cuts for the wealthy.
Maybe you should have said “Stop mortgaging our children’s future by not electing Republicans.”
