Outrage from Covenant parents over leaked shooter's writings: Accusations point towards local officer
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Some Covenant School parents are furious after three pages of the Covenant School mass shooter's writings were leaked Monday.
A Covenant father, Brent Leatherwood, spoke on behalf of Covenant families on Monday. He says they are convinced a member of the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) released these documents.

Leatherwood does not believe it’s a reflection of the department, but he says this one officer is forcing families to re-live this nightmare.
Leatherwood has three children who survived the Covenant School shooting in March. He, along with other parents, have been fighting to keep these shooters' writings from being released and this leak blindsided him.
“You have now allowed this woman who terrorized our family with bullets to be able to now terrorize with words from the grave," said Leatherwood. "How could you, what kind of a person does this?"
And Leatherwood had a message for the person who leaked these images.
“You are a viper. You’re a member of the law enforcement community and you have released evidence that was gathered in our most vulnerable moment,” Leatherwood said.

Metro Police say they are looking into this.
Leatherwood also has a few words for the conservative podcaster, Steven Crowder, who released the writings on his platform "Louder with Crowder".
“Just be a human for once," said Leatherwood. "Quit seeking clicks, and retweets and platform building."
Although some people do believe the writings should be released, Metro Police have decided not to release these writings yet, but this person beat them to it.

Leatherwood claims Metro Police are saying this is a felony and they are working hard to identify and arrest this individual, but Metro Police has not confirmed this with FOX 17 News.
He adds this release will not change their legal case to prevent the rest of the writings from being released.
