Two arrested after bringing dead baby to hospital in Biloxi

BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - On Thursday, officials announced the arrest of two people in Biloxi after police were called to Merit Health Hospital following reports of a suspicious death.

Police were first called to the hospital at 12:51 p.m. They were then told by staff members that Summer Rose Hill, 20, and Takavian Keivon Gibbs, 21, had arrived at the emergency room with their dead five-month-old child. During an examination, medical staff found several injuries consistent with abuse.

The Biloxi couple was then arrested and charged with child abuse. A bond of $500,000 was issued for each of them.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges could be on the way. Both will be processed and later transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center to be booked.
