Democratic party office in Tempe hit by gunfire twice in a week
TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — Shots were fired twice in the span of a week at a Democratic Party campaign office in Tempe, leaving the building damaged.
Investigators said police arrived at the office on Monday just after midnight near Southern Avenue and Priest Drive and found damage from gunshots.
No one was hurt.
Police are now saying that it was the second shooting incident at the office.

Just after midnight on Sept. 16, the front windows were shot with what police say was a BB or pellet gun.
“No one was inside the office during the overnight hours, but this raises concerns about the safety of those who work in that building, as well as those nearby,” said Tempe Police Officer Sgt. Ryan Cook.
The case is currently being investigated as a property crime because no one was in the office at the time of the shooting.
“Overnight, several shots were fired into our Tempe Democratic Party coordinated campaign office. We are grateful to Tempe Police for coming quickly to the scene and are fortunate no one was present or injured,” Sean McEnerney, the coordinated campaign manager for the Arizona Democratic Party, said.
The Mesa Police Department Forensic Services Unit and Tempe police are currently investigating the incident. Police say they are investigating all possible motives.
