The Boston Police Department is asking for the public’s help finding a suspect in a shooting at a barbershop in Dorchester that left one man dead and another injured on Monday.
Officers received reports of two people shot in Dorchester around 12:55 p.m. on Monday, Deputy Superintendent Paul McLaughlin said. When they arrived at the barbershop near the intersection of Eerie and Washington Streets, McLaughlin said they found two adult men suffering from gunshot wounds.
First responders transported both victims to nearby hospitals, where one victim died of his injuries, McLaughlin said. The other victim has non-life threatening injuries, McLaughlin said. McLaughlin confirmed both victims “appeared” to be customers at the barber shop.
“Based on the preliminary stages of this investigation, we do not believe this was a random event,” McLaughlin said. “We are currently spreading out in the area, canvassing, looking for witnesses.”
McLaughlin urged anyone with information or video of the shooting to contact the Boston Police Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470.
