UPDATED:

Two people were shot, with one killed, inside a barbershop in Dorchester with a bloody “graphic” video of the murder scene posted to social media zooming in on the carnage.

BPD Deputy Superintendent Paul McLaughlin said police arrived at 12:55 p.m. Monday and found two people shot; “one was pronounced deceased at the hospital.” Police are asking for the public’s help to help solve the brazen slaying.

“Oh, man,” a bystander is heard saying on police audio from the Erie and Washington streets scene.

“We do not believe this is a random threat,” McLaughlin added, saying police were canvassing the neighborhood for any video. The shooting was at the Exclusive Barber Shop.

McLaughlin added it is “too early to say” on possible suspects.

A disturbing video clip making the rounds on social media shows the murder scene inside the barbershop with the victim dead in the barber chair and the other man shot, bleeding on the floor. The video starts on the street, and the person recording the scene walks right inside, pointing the cell phone camera at the two victims before leaving the shop as fast as he entered it.

The video does pause momentarily for a chilling close-up of the man dead in the barber chair. Channel 5 reports that victim is a grandson who “was a good kid,” a grandfather is quoted as saying.

“We’ve got you. Take some deep breaths,” a single officer is quickly seen saying in the social media video as he attends to the injured man and puts on purple surgical gloves. That victim was seen bleeding from the side of his head talking on a cell phone.

The clip, seen on X (formerly Twitter), is still up Tuesday morning just after 8, and it is too gruesome to link to here. It has eclipsed 77,000 views and has been reposted 146 times.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Boston Police Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470.

Gun recovered in Roxbury

Boston police also reported Monday that they arrested Richard Garofalo, 28, of Boston, on firearm charges.

Officers responding to the area of Island Street and Gerald Street for a report of a person with a gun frisked the suspect and found the Smith and Wesson 380 Bodyguard with one round in the chamber and six rounds in the magazine.

Man with a knife in South End

BPD also posted Monday that they arrested Erick Pierre Louis, 26, of Roxbury, on assault and battery charges after he was found with a knife on Boylston Street Thursday.

“Officers were advised that the suspect threatened a victim with a knife and demanded money that he believed was owed to him,” police said.

“The suspect stabbed the rear tire of the victim’s moped, which resulted in the knife’s handle to break. The suspect suffered an accidental laceration after stabbing the tire. The suspect was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and was booked upon release from the hospital,” BPD added.
