A power line battle is underway in Carrol, Baltimore and Frederick counties as residents fight a new transmission line project that would cut through several properties and farms.

The company behind the project "public service enterprise group" says the lines are necessary to support the growing power grid, but residents fear that it will greatly diminish their property values.

P.S.E.G has said they want to work with property owners to reach an agreement to acquire property rights, but if an agreement can't be reached, they could use the power of eminent domain.

Legal Expert, Yuripzy Morgan, joined FOX45 Morning News to break down what eminent domain means.

"That is probably one of the scariest words in the realm of property rights whether you're an attorney, or a judge or especially for the land owner ," said Morgan. "Really what it means is that the choice has already been made for you."
