Americans for Contraception is behind the inflatable IUD , which is referred to as "Freeda Womb."
Reproductive rights are front and center at the DNC bringing attention to changes since the U.S. Supreme Court voted to overturn Roe v. Wade in 2022.
Since then, there have been22 states that have either banned abortion or restricted access.
Vice President Kamala Harris has been outspoken in her support for abortion rights.Harris has called abortion one of America’s “fundamental freedoms,” according to a White House.
Crowds of activists are in Chicago for protests outside the convention to call attention to such issues as reproductive rights, economic injustice and the war in Gaza.
Activists say they’re ready to amplify their progressive message before the nation’s top Democratic leaders.
"Just like it was in 2022, this is important guys. Abortion remains, not only a winning issue, but a deeply salient issue nationwide," said activist, Mini Timmaraju with Reproductive Freedom for All.
Their issues cover abortion rights, climate change and racial equality, to name a few, but many activists agree an immediate cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war is the overarching message of the demonstrations.
