VP Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter Ella Emhoff pushes ketamine, ‘shorter work days’ in ‘pain management’ rant

Vice President Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, revealed this week that she grew up with a spinal condition that caused a “hunchback” – and suggested using the controversial drug ketamine as one way to deal with the pain. 

The lefty activist daughter of second gentleman Doug Emhoff made the recommendation in one of a series of Instagram posts this week where she also revealed she has suffered from “bad chronic back pain” for most of her life. 

”I was born with a tethered spine (iykyk) which caused my back to not properly lengthen when I was growing and caused a kyphosis (hunchback),” Emhoff, 25, with her face covered in Hello Kitty stickers, wrote to her 345,000 followers on Tuesday.

A tethered spine is the result of the spinal cord abnormally sticking itself to the inside of the spinal canal, which can cause lasting damage to the spinal nerves and the loss of bodily functions if not treated.

“Was in and out of doctors and PT for most of my adolescence Got lower back surgery grew a million inches and now deal with chronic pain,” she continued.

The IMG model and fashion designer asked her fellow “chronic pain people” what they’re using “to feel comf [sic].”

The next day, Emhoff posted another Instagram story in which she linked to a Google Sheet titled “Big Pain Management List.” 

Among the suggestions — which are broken down by devices, topicals, exercises, lifestyle, therapies and books — are “ketamine infusions.” 

Matthew Perry died of a ketamine overdose on Oct. 28. He spent years battling an addiction to the drug.

On Thursday, five people were arrested for supplying and administering the ketamine that killed the “Friends” star and another man. 

Other suggestions to combat chronic pain, according to Emhoff’s list, are “not feeling guilty about the pain, sleep 14 hours, complaining, crying, acceptance, hypnosis, eliminating sugar and no alchohol [sic].”

“These are all just recommendations made to me these should not be taken as medical advice i am just a girl trynna feel less pain,” Emhoff wrote on the list.

Dr. Michael Harbison, a chiropractor in Las Vegas, said there are “far better options out there to deal with pain.”

Some of Emhoff’s recommendations “are not for back pain — they are basically just getting you high,” he said.

Emhoff did not return a request for comment.
