The 17-year-old went for a walk with a friend and her body was found hours later in a drainage ditch.

Everyone at the vigil Friday afternoon shared that they will miss Kaitlin's cheerful personality but above everything, they want justice.

Kaitlin didn't return home Tuesday night and her body was found less than a mile away from her home.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office said that Kaitlin died of strangulation and blunt force trauma.

After speaking with her aunt, Crystal Rodriguez, she shared that they are not losing hope and will find the person or people responsible for this terrible crime.

"Nobody can hide forever, the truth always comes to light. Just like my niece had to go to the light, the truth will come to light. I have faith that we will get justice and we will get this monster out there before he hurts any other family,” said Rodriguez.
