ALBAWABA - Amid shutting down the October 7 restaurant in Jordan for legal purposes since the owner couldn't obtain a license for the name, a restaurant by the same name opened in Beirut, Lebanon in solidarity with Gaza and Palestine.

The place is hard to miss, especially at night thanks to its huge and eye-catching neon lights all over the restaurant with takeaway and delivery placed on a smaller scale next to it.

The name comes from the date Hamas launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood in response to the ongoing Israeli occupation and aggression on Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023. Since then, Israel has taken the lives of more than 25,000 Gazans of whom are children and elderly. In addition, more than 60,000 were injured.

A video first taken and published on TikTok showcased the restaurant at night with the inclusion of its stunning neon lights. The restaurant in Lebanon also added the name "٧ اكتوبر" in translation.

The owner of Jordan's Shawerma restaurant Nabeel Al-Saraireh told sources that he removed the name after realizing that he did not have a license for the trade name from authorities. He stated that another reason he chose this name was because it was the date of his daughter's graduation.
