JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WCYB) — The Washington County, Tennessee Sheriff's Office announced that they cited a man after the discovery of an illegal moonshine operation in Johnson City.
Police said that Jeremy Stines, 36, has been cited for manufacture of alcoholic beverages, possession of a still, and unlawful storage of liquor for sale.
They added that a tip led to this discovery.
It was said that a yard barn was discovered while doing a premise check.
Police added that Stines gave them verbal permission to search the building.
While in the building, they said they found the liquor manufacturing equipment as well as 81 quarts of product.
Manufacture of alcoholic beverages and unlawful storage of liquor for sale are both class a misdemeanors.
