John Honore sentenced for the murder of Linda Frickey
One of the suspects found guilty of murdering Linda Frickey was sentenced Friday.
John Honore was sentenced for second degree murder and faces life in prison with possibility of parole after 25 years.
Linda Frickey's sister-in-law Kathy Richard took the stand and looked Honore in the eye and said,
“It was horrible, John Honore we have observed you showing no respect for this court. What you did was horrible it was demonic. You are known as a grandmother killer.“ said family member Kathy Richard.
Witnesses including Honore's aunt were brought to the stand to show Honore is a victim of abuse and poverty in hopes of a lighter sentence.
Honore's attorney says he also attempted to deliver an apology letter to the Frickey family but they would not accept it.
Honore was found guilty of murdering Linda Frickey in March of 2022 in Mid-City after carjacking and her dragging her to death.
The other three teens struck a plea deal for attempted manslaughter and were given 20 year sentences.
Judge Kimya Holmes will decide if Honore will receive life in prison with a chance for parole after 25 years.
