Diagnostic Lab Data: Contacted Occupational Health Dept at Medical Center, recommended PCP and Opthalmology appointments. Contacted Opthalmologist who prescribed Prednisolone Acetate eye drops x 2 weeks. Also prescribed Valtrex 500 mg BID x three days.
CDC Split Type:
Write-up: muscle /joint aches, unusual fatigue, tachycardia (the evening following vaccination). Woke up in the morning with left eye anterior uveitis/iritis, with associated photophobia, redness, irritation. ( I have had this previously, associated with immune stress. Last episode over two years ago). Also woke up with HSV outbreak ( 7 mm herpetic lesion at base of spine), typically happens with significant stress. |

Write-up: On the day of taking the vaccines had joint pains all over mainly involving the arms but they subsided. On the next day noticed redness and pain in the left eye. On 1/6/21 noticed diminished vision and blurriness in the left eye. Called opthalmology ED and was seen the next day on 1/7/2021 morning . Was diagnosed with left uveitis. I was seen by the on call doctor. There are many doctors involved in my care. My previous episodes of uveitis have been mostly in the right eye and the vision was not affected, The doctors involved in my care are not sure if this was just a coincidence, was an exacerbation of the preexisting pathology or was something new. I have asked to put the eye drops every hourly but the vision has not completely improved. I don''t use the eye drops in the night and when I get up in the morning it is still very hard to read. It is an unusual episode of uveitis as typically my left eye is not involved and I have never had this much diminished vision , I am supposed to put the drops every one hourly until 1/11/2021. Write-up: I started noticing vision changes a few days after receiving the vaccine and went to the eye doctor. I was told I had white blood cells in my aqueous fluid which appeared to be an inflammatory response to something. The official diagnosis was uvetis. There was not really any explanation for what could cause this. I do not have any history of eye problems or autoimmune conditions. I was put on steroid drops and dilating drops. I have had two follow up appointments and have been improving. I also noted a large lump and redness at the sight of injection one week post shot. That has since cleared. |

Write-up: Uveitis (underlying condition occurring once every 2-3 years, I was NOT in a flare up at the time of the injection), and mouth ulcers (underlying condition occurring 2-3 times a year, I was NOT in a flare up at the time of the injection). For the Uveitis I went to my eye doctor and started a prednisolone regimen and am still on it. I received the 2nd does (lot EL9264) yesterday on 3 Feb at 09:00am. The mouth ulcers were treated with oral medication-Valtrex. 2nd dose does not seem to have aggravated the above noted reactions. Other symptoms common to the injection are occurring but seem more intense after the 2nd dose (aches, low energy, some minor coughing) |
