____________________________________________________________________________________

Guidant Polling and Strategy conducted a survey of 400 likely Republican primary voters in Montana’s
2nd Congressional District April 14-17, 2024. A majority of the interviews were conducted via cell phones, with
additional interviews done via text to web and landline phones. The margin of error is +/-4.9% at a 95% confidence
interval. Previously GPS had conducted a survey for Troy Downing’s campaign in January and February.

KEY FINDINGS:
 Troy Downing has seen steady significant growth in his image since entering the race for Congress. In January
30% of voters had a favorable opinion of Downing and last week 48% of voters had a favorable opinion of him.

 Not only do voters have a favorable opinion of Downing, but he also leads in the primary election race for
Montana’s 2nd District. Downing is now receiving 38% of the vote, with Denny Rehberg at 26%, Elsie Arntzen at
10, and 27% undecided.
Now from a different list of candidates, thinking about the Republican primary election for United States House
of Representatives, if the election was held today and the candidates were Elsie Arntzen, Troy Downing, and
Denny Rehberg for whom would you vote?
