18-year-old arrested after running from scene of deadly hit-and-run crash in Reno

RENO, Nev. (KRNV) — One person is dead after a hit-and-run crash in Reno early Saturday morning.

On April 6 at 4:27 AM personnel from the Reno Police Department, Reno Fire Department and REMSA responded on a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Kietzke Lane and Peckham Lane. One vehicle had a sole occupant who was found dead on the scene.

The occupants of the second vehicle fled the scene on foot but were later located by police. The driver, 18-year-old Elmer Rueda-Linares, was arrested. Impairment does appear to be a factor in this crash.

The identity of the person killed is being withheld until their family has been notified.
