A naked Las Cruces man was arrested Saturday after allegedly ripping a light fixture off a home along the 900 block of Gilmer Way and assaulting an officer with the Las Cruces Police Department.

According to court documents, Elijah Jason Paul De Armond, 24, was arrested around 10:10 p.m. Saturday after officers with the Las Cruces Police Department found him naked and banging on someone's front door along the 900 block of Gilmer Way.

De Armond reportedly showed up at a person's house completely naked and began banging on the front door, court documents described.

When the homeowner told De Armond to leave, he allegedly "became disorderly," "ripped" the light fixture off the front porch and broke the front glass door by throwing a rock at it, according to court documents.

He allegedly also broke the front window -- "possibly with his hands" -- court documents speculate.

Court documents said that when LCPD officers arrived they shined their spotlight on De Arnold, who proceeded to run towards the patrol vehicle.

An LCPD officer reportedly got out of the vehicle and told De Arnold to get on the ground.

Court documents said that De Arnold "somewhat" kneeled on the ground and, when the officer attempted to detain him, De Arnold "[grabbed] him by the front of his vest" and pulled on it twice.

At that point, the court documents said, the officer "[escorted]" De Arnold to the ground.

It reportedly took two officers to arrest De Arnold, the court documents note, and he allegedly injured one of the officers by grabbing her left hand and refusing to let go until she hit him in the face "several" times.

De Arnold was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Facility on four counts including two counts of battery upon a peace officer, indecent exposure, criminal damage to property over $1,000 and resisting, evading or obstructing an officer.
