Crowd in awe as moon blots out sun in total solar eclipse
TYLER, Texas (Gray News) – Hundreds of people gathered in Tyler, Texas on Monday to witness the solar eclipse in its totality.
The crowd was rowdy and boastful in anticipation of the once-in-a-lifetime event.
You could hear loud cheers as the moon eclipsed the sun and darkness fell over Tyler in the middle of the afternoon.
The crowd was in awe as the streetlights along the roads turned on because it was as dark as night.
According to KLTV, many people named Tyler came from as far as Canada to witness the natural phenomenon in a city of the same name.
Tens of millions of people who live along a narrow stretch from Mexico’s Pacific coast to eastern Canada could just look skyward Monday to see daylight turn to twilight as the moon blocked out the sun.
