Tulane professor Walter Isaacson accused of pushing student protesting a panel
A Tulane University professor is accused of pushing a student who was protesting a panel.
The tense moments were caught on camera during an event intended to foster diversity of ideas and entrepreneurship for New Orleans Entrepreneurship Week.
The student, Rory McDonald, stood up during the panel in protest when music was played over them, covering their voice.
The video then shows what appears to be Walter Isaacson, a professor at Tulane, grabbing McDonald and pushing them out of the way.
Once McDonald gets to the aisle, Isaacson lets go for a moment before continuing to push the student out of the room.
McDonald said they were bruised and cursed at. McDonald said they are now afraid to return to campus.
Tulane University issued a statement saying they are aware of the incident but that the university's policy is to not comment on personnel matters.
Event coordinators for New Orleans Entrepreneurship Week said the event did have security.
