Homeowner fatally shoots intruder in Baltimore County, police say

ESSEX Md. (WBFF) — A man is dead after he was shot attempting to break into a home Saturday night, according to police.
Police say at approximately 9:45 p.m., officers with the Baltimore County Police Department responded to the 1000 block of Middlesex Road for reports of a shooting.
According to police, once on scene, officers located an adult man who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminarily, detectives believe the armed suspect was attempting to gain access to the resident’s home. The homeowner discharged his firearm, striking the suspect.
Police say while detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this case, they ask anyone with pertinent information or surveillance in reference to this crime to contact homicide detectives by calling 410-307-2020.
