A former Little Rock minor league football coach and his wife are facing felony charges for attempting to have sex with a prepubescent child.

According to an affidavit, Benton County sheriff's detectives arrested 26-year-old Benjamin Coney and 25-year-old Emily Brinley after the couple traveled from their home in Conway to northwest Arkansas to meet with the child on Monday.

The couple arranged a meeting with who they thought was the child through an encrypted app, but it was an undercover sheriff's detective, court documents detailed.

I'm into some very f*****-up, sick taboos," one of the messages read.

Both Coney and Brinley have been charged with internet stalking of a child and conspiracy to commit rape. They are both being held in the Benton County jail on a $200,000 bond.

Coney was the head coach of the Arkansas Punishers, a team in the Next Level Football Alliance, before being fired by the team Friday.

"We are aware of the situation involving Ben Coney and have terminated his employment with the team," the Punishers wrote on social media. "We do not support or allow his actions at all in our organization."
