A total of 100 extra gardaí are being deployed for specific public order duty in Dublin city centre this weekend as part of a specialist policing plan following the rioting in the capital on Thursday.

As Dublin prepares to host two big sporting events and people flock to the city for nights out and Christmas shopping, gardaí are clamping down in a bid to stop any repeat of the violence.
