Hinson Slams Biden's War on American Energy
Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (R-IA-02) released the below statement following the Biden Administration's decision to cancel oil and gas leases in Alaska.
“Even as gas prices climb, President Biden continues his war on American energy. Canceling oil and gas leases in Alaska is just the latest disastrous move by the Biden Administration that will undermine energy security. I wish President Biden were as focused on utilizing America's abundant energy resources, like Iowa biofuels, as he is on forcing families to buy electric vehicles." - Congresswoman Ashley Hinson
Hinson has called for an all of the above energy strategy to restore American energy independence and lower fuel costs. Hinson's all of the above energy strategy includes:
- Making the year-round sale of E15 permanent by passing the bipartisan Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act.
- Passing HR1, the Lower Energy Costs Act, to increase domestic production, reform the permitting process, and streamline energy projects.
- Preventing President Biden from enforcing his electric vehicle mandate by passing the Choice in Automobile Retail Sales Act.
- Resuming drilling and unleashing oil and gas leases on federal lands rather than unnecessarily draining our Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). The House passed the Strategic Production Response Act, legislation to limit SPR drawdowns util the Administration develops a plan to increase federal lands leased for oil and gas production, with Hinson's support.
