- Baseball Fantasy Camp for Kids Expands Accessibility to the Sport
The Detroit Tigers Foundation partnered with Easterseals MORC - Miracle League of Michigan and Fantasy Camp for Kids Foundation to present Baseball Fantasy Camp for Kids on September 13 in advance of the Tigers taking on the Baltimore Orioles. Players Spencer Torkelson and Kerry Carpenter joined 50 special needs children from Metro Detroit.
Miracle League of Michigan supports kids in multiple locations across the state to give them an opportunity to enjoy the game of baseball with volunteer assistants. This event was held at Easterseals Miracle League Field in Southfield, Michigan which is designed to ensure accessibility for all kids involved.
All event participants received a Detroit Tigers jersey and hat. Volunteers from Detroit Tigers front office, Easterseals MORC and Wayne State University were on hand to help participants have an enjoyable experience.

with sensory processing needs, is set to revolutionize the way we experience public spaces. The initiative is part of The Detroit Tigers and The Detroit Tigers Foundation’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all community members, ensuring that individuals with sensory sensitivities can enjoy cultural and recreational venues without barriers.
The sensory room is located on the second level, behind section 210 and will be open for all events taking place at the Comerica Park.

As part of the Detroit Tigers' Military Appreciation focus this season, Tigers colleagues visited Fisher House Detroit, which opened earlier this year, to show their continued support for military veterans and their families.
Located near the campus of the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center, Fisher House Detroit provides lodging for Veteran families at no cost, in a supportive, home-like environment, allowing them to be close to their loved ones while they receive medical care.
The Detroit Tigers Foundation donated $30,000 to support Fisher House Detroit’s mission. In addition, the Foundation presented a specially themed Tigers jersey to commemorate the opening of Fisher House Detroit, which is the 99th Fisher House in a network of 100 globally located homes.

Before Strike Out Cancer Weekend from May 23-25, Tigers pitchers Jackson Jobe and Beau Brieske visited Children's Hospital of Michigan to play video games, color and interact with several youth patients going through a tough time.
The visit from Jobe and Brieske provided an opportunity for children to temporarily escape their medical challenges and simply enjoy being kids.
As part of the Tigers’ Pediatric Cancer Awareness initiatives, the Detroit Tigers Foundation also donated a Gamers Outreach gaming console to the Pediatric Cancer Unit at Children’s Hospital of Michigan.

The CASE (Careers As Sports Executives) Study Program is a free sports executive study program for high school students who are interested in sports – and perhaps careers in sports – but who would not otherwise have the opportunity to get the training, experience and tutelage to pursue entry-level jobs in the industry. The program aims to foster personal and professional development by offering training, experience, and guidance for students interested in pursuing entry-level jobs in sports.

Presented by Meijer and the Detroit Tigers Foundation, The Children’s Center Back to School Backpack Bazaar took place throughout the summer, culminating in over 259 families served by The Children’s Center attending the Tigers game on September 11, 2024 to see the team take on the Colorado Rockies.
