Gilgo Beach suspect Rex Heuermann boasted about career 11 years after alleged killings: clip

The New York City architect and married dad of two arrested in connection with the infamous “Gilgo Four” killings boasted about his career in an interview over a decade after the alleged murders, a video clip shows.

In a video posted by Bonjour Realty last year, Rex Heuermann detailed his work history with his eponymous architecture firm, where he served clients including American Airlines and Catholic Charities.

“I’ve been working in Manhattan since 1987,” Heuermann, 59, told the interviewer.

The clip was posted on Feb. 17, 2022, more than 11 years after the bodies of four women were found wrapped in burlap along Ocean Parkway near Gilgo Beach in December 2010.

The so-called “Gilgo Four” — Melissa Barthelemy, Amber Lynn Costello, Maureen Brainard-Barnes and Megan Waterman — had all been strangled, and are believed to have been murdered between 2007 and 2010.

Heuermann was arrested at his offices located at 385 Fifth Ave in Manhattan Thursday night in connection with the killings, Suffolk Country Police Commissioner Rodney K. Harrison said.

Who is Gilgo Beach serial killer suspect Rex Heuermann?

A suspected serial killer has been arrested over the notorious Gilgo Beach murders in Long Island, The Post can confirm.

Rex Heuermann, 59, a married dad of two and architect at a New York City firm, has a home on 1st Avenue in Massapequa Park, sources told The Post.

His arrest is tied to the “Gilgo Four,” four women — Melissa Barthelemy, 24, Megan Waterman, 22, Amber Lynn Costello, 27, and Maureen Brainard-Barnes, 25 — found wrapped in burlap within days of each other in 2010. 

The body of Barthelemy was first found along Ocean Parkway on Dec. 11, 2010, sparking fears of a serial killer in the area.

By spring 2011, the number of bodies had climbed to 10, including eight women as well as an unidentified man and toddler.

Heuermann’s arrest comes after Suffolk County’s new police commissioner created a special Gilgo Beach Homicide Investigation Task Force in February 2022.
