Beyoncé fans rage as hotels and rental hike prices to £1,000 a night on tour dates

Beyoncé will embark on her hugely anticipated tour including London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium and the Stadium of Light in Sunderland - but fans are not happy with accommodation prices

Fans are outraged after hotels hiked up prices for a one-night stay in Cardiff on the night Beyoncé comes to town.

Chains in the city have raised their prices charging anywhere from £450 to £1,000 a night from May 17, 2022 - when the star is set to perform at the Principality Stadium during her Renaissance world tour.

After already shelling out hundreds of pounds for concert tickets, fans are taking to social media to vent their outrage.

One Beyoncé fan said she started looking at hotel prices just minutes after tour dates were announced and that "nothing within a 40-minute drive of Cardiff was normal".

Many of these hotels have now sold out for the night.

A Radisson Blu room for one night has risen from £95 to £449, while a standard one-bed room at Cardiff's Novotel is now available for £425 - a £223 increase from a usual one-night stay.

A one-bed Airbnb based in the city centre is charging £517 on the night of the 17th - skyrocketing from the £77 the host usually charges per night.

Another Airbnb is hoping to get £1,002 from willing guests - a whopping £877 more than a standard one-night stay at the small apartment.

Elsewhere, families are renting out their three-bedroom houses in Sunderland in time for her stop at the Stadium of Light on 23rd May.

A townhouse at Whitley Bay is charging £333 - up £234 from a usual one-night stay.

The price hikes come after fans scrambled for accommodation in Liverpool on the night of Eurovision in May, with many claiming their pre-booked rooms had been cancelled and relisted at higher prices.

Beyoncé sent her fans into a frenzy after sharing details of her first tour in seven years to her 294 million Instagram followers last week.

The hugely anticipated tour will kick off on 10 May at Stockholm, and will include appearances at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium and the Stadium of Light in Sunderland.

The general sale tickets were released on this morning at 10am on Ticketmaster, with hundreds of thousands of people queuing in waiting rooms when the tickets went live.

A spokesperson for Airbnb said: “These listings are not booked and are not representative of prices on Airbnb.

"The average price for booked accommodation on Airbnb in Cardiff for the night of the concert is around £170 and helps local families boost their earnings and benefit from visitors to Cardiff.”

Radisson Blu and Novotel have been approached for comment.
