#TSLA has experienced a volatile couple of months. The stock tested the $270 level in early-October and then began to decline precipitously in mid-October.
By the end of the month, #TSLA had dropped below $200 for the first time since May.
As you can see in the chart below, the stock has been trading in a channel for the past month - oscillating between the $225-$250 level. This set the stage for a volatility squeeze play.
Yesterday, #TSLA broke out of the channel to the upside on strong volume. This followed a volatile trading session on Wednesday, in which the stock tested the lower end of the channel, rejected that level, then closed on bullish momentum on strong volume.
Given the fact that #TSLA broke out on very strong volume, I expect the stock to test the $260 level - which appears to be the most logical resistance level based on the chart - with the $250 price level acting as support.
If $TSLA breaks through the $260 level, the stock could quickly jump towards the $280 level without experiencing significant resistance.
Obviously, this is just a projection based on a simple price/volume analysis.
As any experienced trader/investor understands, the markets are never predictable and even the most sophisticated calculations could be made erroneous by unexpected economic or geopolitical events.
However, for those who hold a bullish bias towards #TSLA, now could be a great time to go long or purchase calls.

10moChristopher Pavese Larger issues than success of stock pickers. Share prices of a few companies are being driven by sentiment and herding of some retail investors (direct and ETF) and share buybacks. Many institutional investors are on the side lines or moving to private markets. Portends poorly for liquidity in the here and now and does not support capital formation for the longer term. Concentration has been episodic and not persisted, so premature to "cry wolf." Stock pickers will have less incoming capital to deploy. Hard to see a potential trigger that reverses this regime.
