April 2025
If a constitutional amendment to ban a statewide property tax is presented on the ballot, 61% of Tennesseans would vote for it, while only 19% would oppose. Banning statewide property taxes is popular among all groups, including Democrats (+28%).
As rumors swirl about Marsha
Blackburn's potential run for
governor in 2026, her overall
approval rating stands at 51%, while
38% disapprove (+13%). She enjoys
strong support among Republicans
(+66%), but her numbers among
Democrats (-57%) and Independents
(-18%) show room for improvement.
Regarding the U.S. Department of Education, 50% of Tennesseans want it eliminated with funding returned to the states, while 37% oppose that action. Interestingly, despite a majority wanting it abolished, a small plurality have a favorable opinion of the department (+3%).
President Donald Trump's approval
rating among Tennesseans is only
+16 points, with 58% approving and
42% disapproving.
While Tennessee is celebrated as the
home of country music, rock music
actually leads in popularity, with 30%
of Tennesseans choosing it as their
favorite genre of music. It’s followed
closely by country music at 26%.
On the heels of the 2025 legislative
session where his landmark universal
Education Freedom Act was passed
by the legislature, Governor Bill Lee is
officially the most popular politician
in the state, with 59% of registered
voters approving of his job
performance, while only 34%
disapprove.
