In the midst of the Los Angeles riots, Congressman Tony Gonzales (R-TX) proposes legislation to increase the criminal penalties associated with assaulting and interfering with the duties of law enforcement officers, including ICE agents or CBP officials. Gonzales announced the proposed legislation in a Sunday press release.
A protest in San Antonio was attended by more than 300 people who were angry with the latest Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) mass deportation enforcement actions. The rally was organized by the Party for Socialism and Liberation. This political party also organized and rallied leftist activists to resist the Trump administration’s efforts to enforce immigration law in Los Angeles.
A source within Customs and Border Protection told Breitbart Texas that a large contingent is being sent to assist with quelling the violent anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles. The specially trained agents will augment Border Patrol agents already on the ground in the city and add to the 2,000 National Guardsmen President Trump has committed to send in response to the violence.

Six inmates at the Wallens Ridge State Prison in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, allegedly stabbed three correctional officers in a violent attack on Friday morning. A 42-year-old Corpus Christi resident pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $280,000 from a local steelworkers labor union. Robert Cirilo, former president of the United Steelworkers Local 13-1647 in the Texas Gulf Coast city, pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud and one count of embezzlement from a labor organization. According to an announcement on Monday by U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei, Cirilo will face sentencing in August.
The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced financial sanctions on three Mexican nationals and two Mexico-based entities allegedly involved in a drug trafficking and fuel theft network linked to the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG). A former Abilene, Texas, preschool teacher was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for producing child pornography involving two young boys, aged 12 and 13. Mark Penfield Eichorn, 28, received the maximum sentence possible during his recent hearing before U.S. District Judge James Wesley Hendrix. Eichorn was also ordered to pay $66,087.50 in restitution.
