President Trump recently had a room-sized “golf simulator” game installed at the White House — a gizmo that will let him play virtual rounds at courses spanning the globe by hitting a ball into a large video screen, The Washington Post reported.
The links-loving president can now work on his game in the comfortable confines of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. when he can’t squeeze in a round at one of his own courses.
The new system — which the president paid for himself — replaced an obsolete simulator that had been installed under President Obama, the paper reported, citing a pair of sources.
The new system cost about $50,000, and was installed sometime in the past few weeks in a room in the commander-in-chief’s personal quarters, according to the report.
But Trump has not used it yet, and does not plan to use it during his unstructured “executive time” during the day, when he works the phones and stays on top of the news, an official said.
Trump has visited his own courses in Florida, Virginia and New Jersey 72 times since he was sworn in, according to trumpgolfcount.com.
